the seagull

Even though Amboise is inland, there are still plenty of seagulls that congregate around the Loire.  This back-lit fellow seemed to be having the flight of his life as he drifted overhead.  I love the aerodynamic look of these guys.

    1. Thanks. It was a beautiful day and the sun and sky and gull all cooperated.

  3. The Loire is the remnant of an ancient sea, so the gulls are entirely apt. They are wonderful to watch in the air aren't they, even if they are big quarrelsome bullies on the ground.

  4. I do too Stuart, it's quite funny to watch them on the beach when the wind is really strong and they just can't get anywhere :)
