CDP Theme Day - "celebrating summer"

The first of every month is theme day for the City Daily Photo bloggers around the world.  For today's theme, "celebrating summer", I made a collage of moments from the recent fête de la musique and added some fireworks.  To see how the other CDP bloggers interpreted the theme click here.

    1. Yeah, it's hard to capture in one shot. Even though I had one... but I had already posted it before the theme day was announced!

    1. It was fun. But I must say I was a bit shocked to see line dancing and country music included! I grew up in Nashville, so to me it was an especially interesting mix of cultures.

    1. If this helps you avoid one pitfall (one that's gotten me several times), don't forget to turn off auto-focus and focus manually (infinity). At least that was a problem with my Canon. Good luck.

    1. I guess music and fireworks are universal. But even I was surprised to see the line dancing and hear country music!

    1. She was singing her heart out ! She was also leading the choir at the right at the same time. It's great to see folks having so much fun singing. The audience certainly appreciated them.

    1. This was a good one this year. I had a hard time deciding which to listen to as there were many going on simultaneously.

  16. We have music at almost all our festivals, but I've not managed to get such good close ups of the acts.

And yes - peaches! my favourite. though maybe they won't be the best this year (that polar vortex winter and all....)
and I'm not sure why the Lancaster bomber was out, but you can pay to go up in it and it circled twice, so maybe that was why it was out. The air show was Father's Day - and I was at a music festival :)

    1. I'm guessing our festivals are a bit more intimate than yours, so getting up close is not a problem here.
After spending a life time (until retirement) in the South of the US, I had no idea peaches were grown in Canada. It's hard enough down south !
