snow time for tortoises
As I mentioned yesterday, we had a dusting of snow in February but it didn't stick so much to the ground and streets. However, it did add a nice frosting to the metal parts of the fountain Max Ernst.
And happy bissextile year!

come snow or high water
I missed what was probably the only real accumulation of snow this year, but there was a bit of a dusting in mid-February. At the same time, the Loire was up above its normal levels and flooded this short section of the bike path next to it. Neither of these kept your daily reporter from making his rounds to document it all however.

on the road again
While ADP is now up and running again, I'm still confined to walking for a while longer (read explanation here). Even so, I've learned to enjoy seeing my usual running routes at a slower pace and finding photo ops that I would have otherwise zoomed by.
This path encircles the Ile d'Or and is one of my favorite routes. It was a beautiful day in early February when I snapped this shot on one of my long walks. And even though it was mid-day, those shadows suggest just how low the sun is here in winter.

3rd year anniversary
I started this blog three years ago today. Compared to many of my City Daily Photo colleagues, that's just the warm up period. Nonetheless, I have found it to be quite the challenge to post a decent shot every day. At this moment, I am still in the States having a delayed holiday celebration with family and friends. Thus, I think this is a good time to take a little break from the ADP routine and try to restart fresh upon my return to Amboise. A bientôt.

CDP Theme Day - scene from a coffee shop
The first day of every month is theme day for the worldwide blogging community City Daily Photo. Today's them is "scene from a coffee shop" and you may see how the others interpreted the theme here.
My shot of a popular café on Place Debré exemplifies the classic French café as a place to meet friends, read the paper, hang out, and have a great cup of coffee.
