The first day of every month is theme day for the worldwide blogging community City Daily Photo. Today's them is "scene from a coffee shop" and you may see how the others interpreted the theme
here.
My shot of a popular café on Place Debré exemplifies the classic French café as a place to meet friends, read the paper, hang out, and have a great cup of coffee.
A very nice café scene, Stuart !
ReplyDeleteDid you take this photo in the 50's ? (just kidding). The b&w choice is very appropriate.
No, but the place has probably not changed a lot since then.
DeleteHow very enticing this sounds Stuart, can we put it on the list for when I visit :) Love the black and white look, tres Doisneau oui!
ReplyDeleteHey, we're ready for you. As they say in France, "come on down!"... or something like that.
DeleteBlack and white certainly gives this one a timeless feel.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think it "obligatoire" for café shots:
DeleteEscellent French Atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like the café society.
DeleteParfait. Surtout en noir et blanc !
ReplyDeleteComme j'ai dit... c'est obligatoire.
DeleteA perfect French scene.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing missing is me.
DeleteA beautiful place, perfectly captured and exposed in black and white finery!
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in this month's Theme Day,
Merisi
I love the choice of black & white. It really emphasises the timelessness of these typical old cafés.
