l'horloge de la Basilique Saint-Martin

This clock tower is one of the remaining pieces of the Collegiate Church of Saint Martin in nearby Tours.  Below is a brief history of it as described by an historical marker on the street (click on the image to see it enlarged). It also shows how the pieces fit into the overall church layout, most of which is now gone.

  2. I'm amused that there is no mention of the fact that in order to bury him in Tours (and therefore build an oratory over his grave) his body was stolen from Candes Saint Martin and brought up river to Tours.
