la 2CV

The Citroën 2CV is a classic in France.  Although they haven't been manufactured for 25 years, you will still find examples like this one that looks like it just rolled off the production line.  Just look at this lineup and further explanation from an earlier post.

Alas, the 2CVs as well as all the other cars on the road are now a little less safe... that's because I just learned I passed my driving exam and I can now drive with a French license!  Hmmm. Now what car to get?

  1. Congratulations ! I have no driver license and know nothing about cars, but the 2 CV is a really mythic one.
A nice week end in Amboise.

    1. There are lots of car clubs here devoted to them. Mythic is indeed the word. The weekend has be less than spectacular but the forecast for tomorrow looks encouraging. Hope your weather is treating you well.

    1. Alas the 2CV doesn't have airbags. Of course, if I were behind the wheel maybe I would count.

The 2CV was our first car and we used it for our honeymoon all around France.

    2. Il faut que j'ouvre les albums photo de la famille. Peut-être des photos de la voiture dans la propriété des Pyrénées mais pas de photos de la lune de miel, c'est sûr.

    1. I can't tell you how much I stressed out over this. Mainly due to the language challenge, but I somehow managed to get by. The instructor and the examiner were both very patient !
