the old tourist information office

I reluctantly use the word "old" in its most relative sense here (see yesterday's post if you want to see real European "old").  I'm scrambling again to find photos to post in advance of yet another trip this week.  So digging deep into my Amboise archives, I find this October 2010 photo of the "old" TI office as I found it on our first ever visit to Amboise.  Since then it has been relocated across the street.

  3. It reminds me of some 50s architecture here.

  4. Yes, 50s into early 60s. I was thinking that, although much smaller and lacking the domed roof, it is a bit reminiscent of the "old" Municipal Auditorium. That structure is still in use for some things. So, where are you headed, Stuart?

    1. Just got back from Normandy to visit friends. On the way back we stopped in at Mont Saint-Michel. Now that was some magnificent architecture.
