into the woods

While the forest of Amboise is expansive and largely private, one can still walk (or cycle) many of the trails that criss cross it.

  1. Is hunting allowed? I really like this shot, btw. It really captures how the forest rides look at the moment.

    1. I can only say that on my most recent ride, there were definitely hunters in the woods. I heard gunfire (which made me extremely nervous) and in some places there were signs warning of hunting in the area. Just at the entrance to this trail there is a sign indicating this area is "Forêt Privée Française" with icons forbidding littering, fires, motorized vehicles, and getting off of the paths... but no signs regarding hunting here.

  2. Nice place for a walk, if possible without gunfires...

  5. Nice perspective! This is trouble with living on a hill. I can't just get on the bike and go. Well I can, but in any direction, there's a climb involved one way or the other.

    1. I think hills are like the wind. Always start out uphill and against the wind.
