Château de Pray - veil of winter

In winter, leafless climbing ivy on a retaining wall next to the entrance takes on a distinctly veiled appearance.

  1. ...Or a very thin and intricate mace, like "dentelle d'Alençon"!

  2. I just read (on the internet of course) about dentelle d'Allençon and that it originated in the 15th century...just like many of the château in the Loire valley. I learn something every day. Merci Anne !

  3. Sorry, I did not check before publishing. Of course it is 'lace' and not 'mace'. But you found it anyway. I learnt also something...
That is the wonder of blogging.
