Darth Cheminée

You can find this imposing guy on top of many chimneys in Amboise and throughout France.  Although a bit scary, these guys are actually a very efficient use of sheet metal to make chimney caps.

    1. Well, I confess I didn't really know his work all that well, and upon investigating a bit, I now see that (among other things) M. Gaudi was an avid student of geometrical forms (esp. ruled surfaces, of which this would be a composite). As a retired engineer and now woodworker wannabe I appreciate his blending of engineering / art / architecture. I suspect he would have approved of this chimney cap. Thanks for the comment and the excuse to go learn something . -----Stuart
