One has to make a choice at this intersection of these two hiking trails near Amboise. (I believe, though I cannot confirm, the "CR" stands for "Chemin Randonée", hiking road.) This area is crisscrossed with these trails.
Ah, thanks Susan. They are really great for getting of the main roads and finding unexpected things. One of these roads goes through the forest of Amboise. It seems to be one of the few that is not marked "private".
The one through the forest to sit down under a huge tree and if possible look up to the sky. You go out of your house and have nature really nearby. You are the lucky one. Tess
CR stands for chemin rural and they are maintained by the commune.

Yes, I am very lucky to live in this area. And I never forget it.
DeleteAnd if you ever see a V, it's vicinal... The randonnée signs are PR and GR! This is simply delightful. Makes me want to picnic!
ReplyDeleteSince I'm into songs at the moment, I suppose you know 'Loch Lomond'?
Yes I knew GR... that's what made me jump to the wrong conclusion about CR ! And, yes, I know that tune... that's what inspired the title today !
DeleteIn the words of that old Scottish classic.. You take the high road and I'll take the low road.. Maybe we'll meet somewhere in the middle Stuart :)
ReplyDeleteOne of these days, I'm gonna have to go to Scotland and take both roads !
DeleteA lovely photo. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda.
DeleteEither one looks like an appealing ramble.
ReplyDeleteAlso quite a rumble. I was on my bike of course, and these paths are not smooth !
DeleteI'd try left.
ReplyDeleteI would have guessed you'd take the high road. Or is this a political statement?
DeleteLovely landscape!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love riding around on my bike and discovering these little gems.
DeleteOne looks like "the road less travelled". Is that the one you'd take?
ReplyDeleteHaving read the book in 1978, I'd have to take that one.
