Here's another shot from the recent America Days event in Amboise. While there were lots of Harleys to choose from, I decided to go with the other American classic motorcycle, the Indian, for today's post.
If you want to see a wonderful film featuring one of these machines as well as Anthony Hopkins, I recommend you watch the film
The World's Fastest Indian (2005).
Despite their success, the original Indian Motorcycle Co went out of business during the fifties, though other manufacturers have used the name and capitalised on the history and traditions. Wherever it was made and whoever made it that's one beautiful bike though.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful pieces of machinery. And, according to Wiki, they're being made again. Take a look here
DeleteWow, that's fantastic both the picture and the bike. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Geoff !
DeleteMy dad had an Indian. This one seems to be in mint condition.
ReplyDelete"Had". I guess that means you're not going to get it. I can't image what they must cost now.
DeleteThat's a great ride!
ReplyDeleteThey are classics.
DeleteMy dad had one -- had a piece of his right ear missing where he dumped it and slid across the road on his ear. EPS
ReplyDeleteOh! I hate it when that happens.
DeleteOh dear. my frivolous comment seems inappropriate after reading the above one. Love the red Indian.
ReplyDeleteNot in my world. All comments are welcome here.
DeleteThere must be power inside!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful detail !
They are formidable machines.
DeleteFantastic detail here and in last post Stuart.
