This shot was taken straight down onto the sidewalk in Amboise. Every Christmas season, the town spray paints different holiday designs throughout the main pedestrian (i.e., shopping) streets. The paint contains some sort of sparkly substance that when the light hits it, it sort of shimmers. So I took this at night with my flash on to try to capure that best.
I like the pattern Stuart!
ReplyDeleteThere are probably another five or six patterns: Christmas tree, presents, etc. It's all very clever.
DeleteNever seen anything like it!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty charming. And I'm guessing not that expensive for the town !
Deletewhat a neat idea!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a pretty simple idea that I think has a big impact.
DeletePretty darn creative, I must say.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's pretty cool for such a small town.
DeleteI also saw white Christmas shapes in the street today in Amboise but didn't notice the shiny ones.
ReplyDeleteUh oh. Caught! This is from last year ! This year's decorations will be shown next December. You are right, this year's sidewalk decorations don't seem to have the same glow. : > (
DeleteSometimes, the smaller towns can be more creative in their decorating.
ReplyDeleteAnd often they're certainly more charming.
