the geranium

Here's another snap from our terrace at the end of November.  The geraniums (seems like it should be gerania, but I digress) in our flower pots are still going great guns.  I'm sure my Francophone friends will be puzzled by that expression since it makes no sense whatsoever, but basically it means going extremely well.

I would like to dedicate this post to the memory of my dad who was born 99 years ago on this day.  He loved to grow exotic flowers in his greenhouse and he equally loved to take pictures of them.

  1. The flowers have an elegant air about them.

99 years...that would have rated as a huge milestone.

    1. We really got our money's worth out of these flowers as they still are looking good. And yeah, 99 years. Whoa. I generally don't think of myself as old, but then there are facts like this.

  2. Having a greenhouse is my idea of heaven, your father was very lucky!
Temps dropped to below 0 (C of course) yesterday so my geraniUMS are all wrapped up now as are my snapdragons which were still in full bloom...

    1. It was as cold here last night and we didn't wrap them up, so that don't look as happy today. We always replace them every year anyway so we just let nature take its course.

    1. I guess the geraniums are always in bloom somewhere in the world ! That's comforting.
