Every March, Carnival is celebrated by a parade of kids and grownups around the streets of Amboise. There are lots of costumes and lots of music. This photo from last year I thought captured the spirit of the day. The worldwide bloggers under the banner of "City Daily Photo" interpret the theme days in their own special ways...

Great capture. A nice costume for a little girl.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the CDPB Theme Day.
It was a cute costume. Unfortunately, it was so chilly this day that she, and the other kids, had to wear their jackets underneath.
DeleteWhat a very sweet little girl Stuart, she's a little like a cross between a fairy and a friendly witch :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't know exactly what the character was that she was shooting for. Didn't matter. She was still cute. I took a lot of photos of kids that day and was surprised when the parents didn't seem to mind... at least they didn't object to me. The laws in France are pretty strict about taking photos on the street. Hopefully, I don't look too threatening.
DeleteA cute girl, Stuart! The costuming looks good.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot like Halloween in the States... the kids (and the adults) were very creative.
DeleteYou’ve made a great Theme Day post. I'm glad you picked this for today. Thanks for the informative text.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's always a fun day... even it was a bit chilly.
DeleteA fun tradition and this is a cute photo.
ReplyDeleteThese small town events just overflow with cuteness and delight.
DeleteThat's very sweet, love it, but I would never have published this!
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for one of my French friends to comment on that. I know it's taking a bit of a risk, but the parents didn't seem to mind. Plus with all that makeup, I don't think anyone could identify her. (Unless what you really mean is you don't like my photo !)
DeleteI think it is a sweet shot of a darling little girl.
ReplyDeleteThere were lots of kids in wonderful costumes... it was hard to pick just one.
DeleteA great choice for this month's theme. The little girl is a real cutie and carnaval is definitely part of street life pretty much everywhere these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks. And yes it is. I guess everybody is looking for an excuse to celebrate after (or almost after) a cold winter.
