Château Pintray

The château Pintray dates back to 1612 (although the property itself dates back to the fifteenth century) according to their web site.  It now serves as a B&B (chambres d'Hôtes) in Lussault-sur-Loire, just a few minutes from Amboise (and only a "few" more minutes if you're on a bike as I was).  The vineyards at Pintray have been around at least since the eighteenth century.

Their web site will give you much more history of the property as well as photos of the château inside and out.  You can view my panorama better if you enlarge by clicking on the image.

  1. Very nice typical Loire house. I guess they all need to branch out to make ends meet...

I once stayed at a maison d'hôtes like this, a small castle near Limoges. Though the setting was lovely, they were either clearly on a budget or had a heating problem. It was freezing and the covers were thin and I caught myself a cold over night...

    1. Ah yes, typical... just like mine ! Anyway, sorry to hear you a bad stay... it can be very hit or miss, unfortunately.

  2. This looks like an old barn , but I must admit that I do not know what a Loire guest house must look like. You live in a beautiful environment but for me there is definitively not enough space .I grew up in such vastness, sleeping most of my life in a hammock between two baobab trees and being in a closed room is just a challenge for me. But your photos are so well done and gorgeous. ( no annoying com and no criticism...lol)

    1. I'm still trying to get used to smaller spaces as well... not that I had baobab trees in my yard growing up though ! But in any case, living in a hospital room has got to be stressful... not just because of the small space. That vision of sleeping in a hammock between baobab trees is fantastic !

    1. It's really out in the country side. Calm, quiet, beautiful.

    1. "Embiggened" huh? That's a word one doesn't hear in the States. But quite understandable to me nonetheless. This why I love CDP.
