almost spring

We recently toured a friend's beautiful garden in Amboise which has this glorious clematis.

  1. How delicate and beautiful. I love the heady perfume of jasmine. Spring seems really to have arrived in Amboise. May be I will come back to Amboise one day .

    1. Well, it will officially arrive tomorrow... but it's reputation preceded it by several weeks. I hope you will be back on the road soon wherever it may take you !

  2. This is Clematis armandii, much more delicately scented than jasmine, and one of my absolute favourites.

  3. Yes, we just saw the same Clematis in a B&B in Turquant. It has persistant leaves as well, which is an added bonus! The owner didn't know its name though. I intended it post my photo tomorrow! Will do so anyway and link back to yours.

  5. I can't. :-( I can't smell it. That's unfair.

(Does jasmine normally flower in March???)
