salle d'education à Limeray

Another photo from my bike ride last week... this one taken in the nearby village of Limeray.  I had not seen this building before and really enjoyed seeing its art deco look in the bright sunshine.

  1. Looks like your hopes for snow may be unfulfilled this year Stuart :( Never mind it must be lovely to be able to get out and about on your bike capturing shots like this.. Art Deco was such a wonderful style.

    1. I suppose this is nature's way of trying to make up for last year when we didn't really have a spring. This year we haven't really had a winter. And I really like Art Deco wherever I can find it.

    1. Don't know. This was the first time I saw it and it was not open. However, it looks like it's used as a local public space for meetings, exhibitions, etc.

  4. I love Art Deco architectur. I saw the most beautiful buildings in Shanghai. France is not really the place where you can find this style. Anyway your pics are always interesting .

    1. No there's not a lot of it in France, so it makes it even more special to find it. There's a good exhibit of this style of architecture at la Cité de l'Architecture et du Patromoine in Paris (but closes next week). My little find pales among the giants found there and in Shanghai but still a pleasant surprise. Hope you are progressing well, Tess !

    1. I think it was and is a space for exhibitions, meetings, and such... all of which I suppose can be educational ?!

  6. The way the light is hitting the lettering, I thought at first it was Hebrew.
