the fishing boat

Although I have seen old fishing boats like this on the Loire before, I have not seen one in Amboise until this week. This is typical of boats working on the Loire which have a flat bottom in order to navigate the shallow waters.

  1. This is an incredible photo. The fisher boat looks as reappearing from already far away times. And what a great reflection you captured.

    1. Thanks, Tess. It does look from far away times, but it looks to be still functional. At least I hope so.

  2. I can just imagine you whipping out your camera quick smart to get this fab shot Stuart :) It certainly is an unusual design but the shallow bottom makes complete sense to me.

  3. I've always been very fond of these boats. Looks good in monochrome.

    1. Yeah the B&W felt like the right treatment here.

  4. Thanks, I figured if it's an old scene, it should be in B&W.

    1. In the summer, one can almost walk across the Loire here. I say almost because while it's not deep, it's still dangerous.

  6. I was thinking along the same lines as William - hoping no rogue wave comes by!
