Every April, the Fair of Amboise brings a few days reminiscent of the classic American state fair. For the kids, there are wild rides, junk food, loud music, and arcade games. For the adults, there are a wide variety of merchants hawking their wares, plus lots of interesting local and not so local foods and wines. And of course there is the fireworks display over the Loire to close it out.
Sure sounds like a lot of fun for everyone.
ReplyDeleteYes, for a small town, this is a big deal.
DeleteAh, let's celebrate!
ReplyDeleteParty - Party !
DeleteI have quite bad "souvenirs" of fairs. A stolen bag and a not real friendly atmosphere. But I think in a smaller town it's different and the Amboise fair seems to be a funny place to go and try all the local food and wine !
ReplyDeleteBUT I love fireworks, especially on a lake or the seaside for the reflection they produce on water. The most beautiful I ever saw was in Sydney for the New Year in 2011.
Yes, I am quite the fireworks fan as well. This was a pretty good display too. That Sydney show must have been spectacular. You do get around !
DeleteI forgot to put my name. Sorry

Oh, I figured it out.
DeleteAmazing fireworks!
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice show. It took me several minutes to remember how to take fireworks. Just as well, I took a zillion of them anyway.
DeleteA funny event, I like the fireworks!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun... but yes, the fireworks are the best part for me.
DeleteLovely firework shot Stuart, I really like the fact that you can see the surrounding area as well, gives it a nice sense of scale
ReplyDeleteIn this shot, the explosions really lit up the area. It was actually pitch dark otherwise. Most of the other shots I took have a black sky and little to be seen on the ground except the street lights. But I liked the glow on the trees in this one.
DeleteSounds like a lot of fun .. it's been a while since I've been brave enough for those crazy wild rides :) Fireworks aren't that easy to capture, you have une très belle image here Stuart ..
ReplyDeleteThey certainly aren't easy for me. Seems like I have to re-learn how to do it every time.
