I'd say these guys are pretty safe. I enjoy seeing the iris since I grew up with many of them in our yard in Tennessee. It's like having old friends come to visit once a year.
Love your description Stuart, it's exactly the way I feel when I see the first spring freesias pop up.. the perfume is wonderful. That's a pretty nice looking jardin et maison n'est-ce pas..
I love wild iris. So pretty. Oh you grew up in Tennessee. My fiancé studied 3 years at the Chattanooga University and he spent a very happy time overthere. Tess Ps: The house on your photo seems to be beautiful.
Well my fiancé is half American (his dad) , his mom is from Morocco , so the shock was not as great it was his choice, he wrote his doctor thesis in human and social science about the evolution of Chattanooga. No French people in our families, my mom is Zoulou and my dad from Norway but he grew uo in South Africa. As you can imagine I'm a crazy mixture ! Lol Tess
Great title for this post!
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad you didn't groan.

ReplyDeleteYes, it's a nice place on the edge of town. They have lots of front yard unlike us. On the other hand, I don't have to take care of it.

I haven't been to Chattanooga in so many years. If your fiancé is French (or just non-American) it must have been quite the culture shock for him !

That is indeed a mixture ! What an inter-connected world we live in now.
DeleteBeautiful composition! The driveway leads you eyes through the garden and toward the house. Nicely done Stuart.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit and the kind words. I always look for those diagonals !
DeleteI also like irises. We were pleasantly surprised to find lots of them growing in our yard the first spring after we moved in.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are so easy to grow. I remember that all we did was separate the bulbs in some years so we could have even more.
DeleteBoy, that's a beautiful property!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a really nice place. I wish I could have gotten inside.
