the good witch

Recently, carnival was celebrated in Amboise.  This is where the school kids accompanied by adult bands and dancers parade through the streets.  Confetti by the ton is thrown throughout the route.  After it was mostly over, I came upon this good witch putting her broom to use not by flying on it but rather by sweeping up confetti.  It was the perfect day for celebrating... it was a lot warmer than last year when the kids had to wear heavy coats under their costumes.

  1. Is it just a little creepy that I watched "Oz, The Great and Powerful" last night, and now THIS? lol

  3. The funny thing is that the street sweepers in France have the exact same brooms made of plastic. It also amuses me no end!

  4. How cute she is . My brother and me loved to disguise, making strange costumes with banana leaves and all we found in our Namibian childhood. We had great fun. Before arriving in Europe I had no idea what carnival was about ,but finally all over the world children love to disguise in some way or another.

    1. That is true. Carnival here for the kids is more like Halloween in the States where it's all about the costumes. The more outrageous the better. Hope you're doing well today. I was a little worried.

    2. Thanks fir your kindness . I am not in a very good physical condition, a lot of problems, but the biggest trouble is that I feel alone cause my fiancé, family and friends are 800 km away and can only come twice in a month. I am an optimistic person but sometimes it's hard. Thanks again. Your photos always bring sunshine.
