I've already posted
one example of little treasures stored in the attic at château Chaumont; here is another which I presume to be a little statue of Archangel Michael slaying Satan in the form of a dragon. I know this looks more like a snake but this is nonetheless my theory. I love the soft light that comes in through the small windows into the very plain storage rooms. Bon dimanche !
It's a strange gesture, isn't it? It's also interesting that they've decided to put the storage rooms on display.
ReplyDeleteAnd I so glad they did. I love those old rooms and the stuff in them.
Storage rooms coming up on VDP too! Bon dimanche !
ReplyDeleteJ'attends le vide grenier ! I'm guessing the storage rooms there are going to be a bit more extravagant than these !
DeleteIt looks quite lovely bathed in soft light, as serious as the subject is.
ReplyDeleteThis light is perfect for portraits... even if it is statuary.
DeleteThere's such a wonderful sense of adventure being allowed to check out the storage rooms.
ReplyDeleteThat's right. And it's always changing from visit to visit.
DeleteI think your theory sounds more than feasible Stuart :) choosing to use black and white was perfect for this shot, the light and shadow is parfait !
ReplyDeleteThanks. These old storage rooms are wonderful.
