It was so cold* in January of last year, that the moisture on the window of the train to Amboise froze over. So far this year, it's been a pretty mild winter here... no ice, no snow. Zut.
*With respects to Johnny Carson, whom some of you may remember.
I have this little fear in my head that we're going to pay for this warm winter...
ReplyDeleteYes when the bugs are out in force, we'll regret it.
DeleteGoodness, what an interesting photo. I tried to work out what it was before looking at the caption but had no idea. It looks a bit like plaster.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a photo of the porcupine you mentioned at Chaumont?
It was interesting to watch it form as it "grew" from one side of the window to the other.
DeleteIt looks like you'll be seeing spring, summer, and autumn again before you see winter. ;))
ReplyDeleteMaybe so, but it's still just mid-February, so we'll see.
Deletemakes a neat photo! they are thinking we may get a foot of snow wed/thurs! wow!
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I'm looking forward to the photos.
DeleteI have seen that happen to windows many times here. Good shot!
ReplyDeleteI on the other hand have never seen ice on the windows in Perth.. Sometimes I feel a little deprived :) sounds like you're having a heat wave Stuart :)
ReplyDeleteNot exactly a heat wave, but it is a few degrees above average. Which is to say above freezing.
DeleteTriple zut, oui ! It's a cool photo!
ReplyDeleteIt was cool for sure !
