l'allée enneigée - the snowy lane

It's like waiting for Godot, the waiting for snow here.  This photo was take one year ago today when we had the "big" snow (maybe 3 inches / 8 cm).  Temperature-wise it's hard to complain though.  It's been very mild and I have been able to continue with jogging and even a few bike rides.  If you want to compare this view with the same one in July, take a look here.

  1. I'm not ready for July yet and I hate these mild temps. I read somewhere that this has been the warmest January since 1900. Still, if I hadn't looked at the July shot, I wouldn't have noticed the beautiful lamp!

    1. I hadn't heard that about this January but I can believe it. I just hope we have a normal spring this year since we didn't have one last year.

  2. We may not even get snow this year! If we don't, it will be the first time in 38 years we haven't had at least a light snow fall in Paris.

    1. Is the desperation starting to show ? The outlook is not good. Of course, if it's like last year maybe it'll snow in April.

    1. The snow is always whiter on the other side of the fence ?

  7. I rather like a bit of snow myself, and can understand the desperation. After all, it just isn't a proper winter without snow (we went through that a couple of years ago). So I am wishing the wind to blow some of this 15 cm that is falling now over the ocean to you.

Both views of your lane are very nice.

    1. Well, this wouldn't be the first Amboise winter without snow, but it would really help make up for all the rain and mud so far.

  8. I love the snow in small doses and I do hope that you get at least some in Amboise and in Paris as well.

Beautiful winter scene and a spot to photograph in all seasons.

    1. Thanks, Genie. I hope so too. I have several spots that I like to go back to at different times and weather. They are good anchors.

  9. I would happily trade waiting for snow for the 33+ days of snow cover and sub-zero temps we've had here in Central Ohio. Hugs to you both, eps.

    1. Too bad we can't share our weathers. I'd send you some days in the 50s for a day of snow !
