Spring in February

It's a good thing there's an ice rink in Amboise (see yesterday's post) so that we can remember that it is really winter here.  Sunday and Monday it was so sunny and warm (16°C / 60° F) that even the bees were out collecting pollen.  It's hard to complain about nice weather but I have to wonder what will happen to these confused plants if it does turn really cold again.

  1. Pretty shot but yes, I can't help but wonder also. And the poor bees. And the swallows will arrive early and probably not make it (like they did a few years ago when they died by the thousands) and, and, and...

    1. What ?! With all your VDP influence there ?! I did enjoy the video but it makes me even more sad that I won't be able to make it.

    1. It's probably best not to have things blooming so early. I think it's going to be a big problem here.

  4. Bad start into the day and some despair. So these blissoms are welcome to siften my anger. Gorgeous shot. Apple and cherry trees have blossoms sometimes quite early ,so just let's hope that winter "a tiré son chapeau" !

    1. Sorry to hear the day is off to a bad start. Tomorrow is another day and who knows ? I hope you are right about the end of winter... I suppose that would be the least harmful to the trees.

  5. I think blossoms are one of those spring blooms that arrive whatever the weather!
p.s. I just read your comment a bit further back about the French photographers exhibition at MoMA, that gives me hope as our Art gallery here in Perth have had several fabulous exhibitions here direct from MoMA.. guess who will be first in line :)

    1. It's amazing how quickly the blooms respond to just a few days of warm weather. I'll put in a good word for Perth the next time MoMA asks me about where to exhibit next !

  6. Lovely shot.

Yes, it's a bit too early... in two or three weeks in your part of the world would be okay, but you can still get a chill that can affect blossoms.
