the fair at Amboise
Every May there is what I would call a "home" fair in Amboise. It's an opportunity for vendors of home products and services that are in and around Amboise to display their wares. As a photographer, I really love the white tents and in this case, the shadows on them.

CDP Theme day for July - "upside down"
This fair ride from last spring, is designed to turn you upside down and inside out. Four brave passengers are installed at either end of this huge beast. The seats can freely rotate 360° so if the timing is right you can be travelling straight down upside down. If I remember correctly, it's almost 50 meters / 150 feet tall and riders experience multiple G-forces. I was happy to take a picture of it.
The first of every month is Theme Day for the bloggers of City Daily Photo. To see how they interpreted this theme, take a look here.
And here another view of it in action. By this time it started to rain so the lens got some raindrops, but you get the idea.

la Journée des artistes
I'm posting a little later than usual today because this is one of those rare occasions where I am actually posting a photo on the same day I took it. All around town, 100 artists and artisans have setup their sidewalk booths to show and sell their handiwork. It seems even more festive to me this year because of the colorful banners that have been installed overhead on rue Nationale. Then, throw in some street musicians, the regular boutiques, the usual Saturday wedding groups and you have a town-sized street party. And thankfully the weather is perfect for it.

live from Amboise, it's Saturday night
The fair has come to town and it has all the rides and games and junk food you'd expect to find at a fair in the US. I glad I was not on this incredibly fast ride when I captured it in a very short time lapse (0.8 second) last night.
