This fellow appeared on our terrace this morning.  Some believe it is a sign of good luck.  Works for me.

Well, apparently spiders (for us of a certain age, the answer to this childhood riddle is "Pilgrims").

Or just down the street under a bright streetlight.  So bright that not only the prey but even the silk filaments seem to glow in the dark.

This fellow was out sunning himself on this beautiful day and stayed still just long enough for me to quickly get a shot before he fluttered off.  Thanks, Susan, for identifying it as a Knapweed Fritillary butterfly.
