fronds in winter


There is at least one advantage to the sun being so low in winter here*.  It makes it a lot easier to shoot subjects back-lit by the sun.

* We're about the same latitude as the northern border of Maine.

shocking !


After a few nice warm days, it was a shock when the temperatures turned cold again.  But they'll be back.

These grasses and flowers were found on top of the levee near our house on one of those beautiful days.

winter grass


This little puddle provided just the right reflection for this patch of tall grasses.  That's the château in Amboise in the background.
