forsythia

This forsythia in downtown Amboise is one happy camper.

  1. Yes it is and it's free! I've noticed quite a few trimmed ones in Versailles... Did I mention that I much prefer the riot of English gardens to the formal jardins à la française (except perhaps Villandry)?

    1. I appreciate them both but I think the English gardens are more in keeping with my style. I am not really a formal kinda guy.

    1. It didn't hurt that the sun was hitting them just at the right angle.

    1. I'm sure it's worth the wait. I remember them living in the Washington DC area and also in North Carolina as being spectacular. They are as well here but just not so frequent.

  6. How funny I have such a wild flowering forsythia when looking out of my rehab room window. A morning sunshine , needs it badly because for the moment I quarrel with my destiny every day.
So joyful pictures are welcome. Thanks. I am visiting some blogs but must say that yours show various themes and that's what I like.

    1. I'm glad you've got a view. The photos just don't do justice to the real thing. If you want variety, you might browse through the list of bloggers of City Daily Photo (there's a link to it on the right hand side of this page) if you haven't already. They're from all around the world.

  7. What a welcome sight. We had another cold weather alert overnight last night. At the end of March!! (at least we are not on the east coast where they are getting battered with another snow storm.)

    1. "Alert"!? I thought that was business as usual in your area ! Hang in there. Spring will come. And just think how much you'll appreciate it.
