le tour autour les tours

Yet another bike tour snap.  This time around the electrical towers just on the outskirts of Amboise.  (Too bad it wasn't near Tours !)

  3. J´aime la perspective de cette photo. And the sky is so blue above the clouds. I love it despite les " tours". Thanks for asking about my progressing, not really good, big problems with healing up and a high risk of septecimia. So many drugs to swallow ,giving me the feeling of being dizzy. but that´s the challenge . Lol

    1. Hey, you can't have too many tours can you !? Sorry to hear you are struggling in the aftermath of surgery. I have no words that will make it all better. I will try to post some photos though that will try to keep you entertained... and maybe even amused... despite the bad play on words.

    1. It's getting greener by the day. And we're about to start an entire week of above average warm weather. That may not sound good to you at this point but for us it's really welcome.

  5. Whenever I see electrical towers like these Stuart it makes me think about when we lived in Central Africa. On our trips down to Kariba Dam early morning and evening the giraffes, elephants etc would cross the gap between the pylons to the river, was wonderful to watch..

    1. We have had no shortage of blue skies this winter. The exact opposite of last year when we hardly had any until mid-June.

    1. thanks. It was a good day for riding. It's nice and flat around here so the only impediment is the wind... which can be formidable.

    1. Yes and it was nice of them to pose for their portrait.

  9. Somewhere, there must be a study written on the different designs of these towers. I'm sure there is a reason other than aesthetics. I have rather a large collection of them in my photos and none look like these :)

    1. I can only think of electrical engineering texts on power transmission... or maybe it's more of a civil engineering task. In any case, I'm just guessing the power companies are more interested in cost efficiency than aesthetics. Having said that I have seen some not so bad looking towers.
