the cherry tree posing as a hawthorn


Update to the original post.  This is actually a cherry tree.

According to my tree book this looks to be a hawthorn.  In any case, it seems to be very happy that spring has arrived in Amboise.  Here is a wider view:

    1. Spring is certainly in full swing in Amboise. The tulips and other flowers are everywhere. Stay tuned.

  3. This isn't Hawthorn. The flower / leaf arrangement isn't right and it is too early for Hawthorn to be flowering. It's Wild Cherry Prunus avium.
