the blue door

What I like about this door is all of the textures.  There's the blue-painted wood of course, but there are also the old wood beam lintel, the window glass and curtains, a ceramic street number, plus stone blocks and the stone pavers.

  3. It looks like the famous Pontijou stone used to build Cheverny, that gets whiter with time (like us!).

  4. Old doors are treasures and this one got really nice details. The ceramic house number is an eyecatcher.
I came home from a travel to Lisbon. A town full of treasures too.

  5. Pretty ensemble. We should all have pretty ceramic numbers. They make life happier.

  6. I also like taking photographs of doors whenever we travel. I have one with a bullet hole in it that I found in a little town in New Market, Virginia, last summer. Looking forward to lots of interesting doors and windows there in Amboise when we visit in September!
