This poppy on the banks of the Loire is several months ahead of its time. And it was the only one in the vicinity (or anywhere else as far as I know). By June they should be everywhere but this one confirms my hope that they are on the way.
What a gorgeous, glowing hue of orange! We are enjoying the intense yellows of daffodils and forsythias, along with a bumper crop of shockingly purple crocuses on our daily walks, which fortunately are not yet limited. They are also ahead of their normal bloom time, but it gives a sense of hope that this too, will pass--just not fast enough..It sounds as though you are thriving in isolation as best you can. Bon courage to you both!
