blazing wings


This fellow was out sunning himself on this beautiful day and stayed still just long enough for me to quickly get a shot before he fluttered off.  Thanks, Susan, for identifying it as a Knapweed Fritillary butterfly.

    Oh he's a beauty Stuart, the markings are so amazing.. Wasn't it lovely of him to hang around long enough for you to snap him :)
