le trottoir

On this rainy day, the wet paving stones of this sidewalk held a pale reflection of the gray sky overhead.

  1. Great b&w reflection . You got the "eye"for beautiful pics. Il ove cobblestones. Memory lane: wounded knees and bleeding nose when falling from the bike as a child.

    1. Thanks, Tess. I too had my share of bicycle falls but I can't blame it on the cobblestones as there weren't any where I grew up. But there were clotheslines !

  2. Yes, cobblestones are treacherous, but I love them! Good photo Stuart.

    1. Thanks. They are certainly wonderful to see. But navigating them can be a problem.

    1. We have lots of them here. I don't know what France would do if it ever ran out of stone. It's in almost everything.

  5. I'm convinced that walking on these will improve your balance. Until you've lost it, then you're in trouble.

    1. They certainly make you focus on your walking... that's for sure.

  6. Les pavés sont photogéniques and I love rattling over them whether driving a car on a bicycle!

    1. Rattling is definitely the correct word here. I think I prefer photographing them to riding on them !
