Recently this wonderful banner was hoisted up the flagpole on top of the levee. Before, the pole was generally unused. I think this is a nice addition for welcoming visitors to town and is almost always fluttering away in the wind blowing down the Loire valley.
Do you know what it represents? Very colourful.
ReplyDeleteNice composition and interesting banner, I've never seen one like this, I also wonder what it represents...
ReplyDeleteI like the colours, and the backdrop is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the banner represents. It's difficult to see in this shot but to me it seems to indicate a cylindrical shape. So my guess is that it represents the towers of château (you see one of them in the lower left of the photo). Or it could just be an interesting design!
ReplyDeleteA very nice welcome indeed Stuart, whatever the colours represent!
ReplyDeleteThis is a banner by Michel Gressier, an artist in Tours...
ReplyDeleteThank you for that info. I wondered who made it (and the other one on the Ile d'Or). After a quick search, I see he did the ones on the Wilson bridge in Tours as well. I really like his work.
