The first of every month is theme day for the City Daily Photo bloggers around the world. For today's theme, "celebrating summer", I made a collage of moments from the recent
fête de la musique and added some fireworks. To see how the other CDP bloggers interpreted the theme

Good post. Great montage.

Thanks, Jim! I had lots to choose from !
DeleteLooks like the fête de la musique was wonderful in Amboise too! That's a joyful summer celebration post. Mine is a bit darker!
ReplyDeleteHey, I thought yours was smokin' !
DeleteA collage is always a great idea for theme day. Looks like you had a real Summer day during the fête de la musique.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's hard to capture in one shot. Even though I had one... but I had already posted it before the theme day was announced!
DeleteWhat a very jolly affair Stuart, the sun makes everything so much more enjoyable oui!
ReplyDeleteThe weather did cooperate well on that day. Thankfully.
Deletei like the collage! are you going to set off fireworks on friday?!
ReplyDeleteWe're actually going to a party given by some American friends in Amboise. So at least in spirit we will !
DeleteLOVE your collage! It sure looks a celebration to me. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was fun. But I must say I was a bit shocked to see line dancing and country music included! I grew up in Nashville, so to me it was an especially interesting mix of cultures.
DeleteExcellent choices for the theme day, love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was a "little" calmer than yours !
DeleteThanks. I think a good time was had by all !
ReplyDeleteWonderful collection of photos. The celebrations have truly commenced :).
ReplyDeleteYes, let the summer games begin !
DeleteI'm not sure what happened to my first comment so here goes again!
ReplyDeleteSummer is full of festivals of all kinds. Perfect post for the day!
Uh oh. Whatever it was you were trying to sell me in the first comment must not have passed the spam filter ! Thanks for the 2nd try !
DeleteWhat a great collage and a great event that I've been able to attend just once.
ReplyDeleteV
It seems to get bigger every year with more and more musicians and more locations.
DeleteOne of these days/nights, I'm going to try my hand at photographing fireworks. Very much a part of my summers.
ReplyDeleteIf this helps you avoid one pitfall (one that's gotten me several times), don't forget to turn off auto-focus and focus manually (infinity). At least that was a problem with my Canon. Good luck.
DeleteIt may be France, but it sure looks American! Great photos for the theme.
ReplyDeleteI guess music and fireworks are universal. But even I was surprised to see the line dancing and hear country music!
DeleteI particularly like the singer in the middle left shot!
ReplyDeleteShe was singing her heart out ! She was also leading the choir at the right at the same time. It's great to see folks having so much fun singing. The audience certainly appreciated them.
DeleteLove music festivals! This is a wonderful collage.
ReplyDeleteThis was a good one this year. I had a hard time deciding which to listen to as there were many going on simultaneously.
DeleteWe have music at almost all our festivals, but I've not managed to get such good close ups of the acts.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - peaches! my favourite. though maybe they won't be the best this year (that polar vortex winter and all....)
and I'm not sure why the Lancaster bomber was out, but you can pay to go up in it and it circled twice, so maybe that was why it was out. The air show was Father's Day - and I was at a music festival :)
I'm guessing our festivals are a bit more intimate than yours, so getting up close is not a problem here.
DeleteAfter spending a life time (until retirement) in the South of the US, I had no idea peaches were grown in Canada. It's hard enough down south !
