This side of the church was nicely renovated this year. I was struck by the red of the door and the blue and white of the sky on this beautiful afternoon this week. An earlier post showed a close up of the high water marks of historic Amboise floods (just to the left of the door which is now much redder);
take a look here.
We drive past alongside this church often, almost always from left to right of your picture. We've followed the renovations from the day the team was there to survey the site. They did remarkably well erecting a scaffold that didn't inconvenience motorists too much on a busy main road, considering how close the church is to the road. I've never noticed the red door -- too busy looking at the chateau on the rare occasions we approach from the opposite direction I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThe red door and the blue sky really does it.
ReplyDeleteJe vois que ton œil est toujours en alerte! Bravo pour la capture.
ReplyDeleteIt's a church with a lot of character.
