Today in France, the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I is remembered with a national holiday. Ceremonies are conducted throughout the country. The war's cease fire began at 11:00 am on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Lest we forget the price we pay for aggression and war.
I always miss the ceremonies in Versailles because I'm too lazy in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteYes, like you and I both said today, lest we forget...
Some of the rituals to the ceremony will be quite similar to the ones held here, I expect.
ReplyDeleteLooking at this after last Friday night is even more poignant...
