I know I recently posted a wall of red ivy but I couldn't resist this one too. This wall of ivy has dropped all of its leaves except for some of the precious red ones. I liked the patterns from the sinuous shoots remaining over what appear formally to be windows through the stone wall.
Strictly speaking, this is not Ivy Hedera helix, which is an evergreen European plant. This looks like Boston Ivy Parthenocissus tricuspidata, a deciduous east Asian plant which is related to grape vines, not Ivy. It is certainly very photogenic though, whatever its nomenclature and origins.
ReplyDeleteit looks really pretty against the grey wall :)
ReplyDeletep.s. i'll send you some chili!
I'll be waiting !
DeleteIt's a fascinating pattern for this time of year!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think kinda Pollock-esque !
DeleteMethinks its been awhile since those windows were open. tres pretty image Stuart.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd say so, but at least they don't have to worry about bugs flying in. And thanks.
