I've not seen levees on the Mississippi, so I don't know how these compare. One nice side effect is that they keep out any kind of construction too close to the river so it keeps the river banks looking natural.
Here, the leaves in the foreground are from Plane trees. The trees in the background are, as best as I can tell from my French tree book have the French name Tilleul à petites feuilles. Whatever. They are all beautiful in the fall.
We still have some leaves hanging on even though we are at a higher latitude then you. Gotta love that gulf stream and jet stream. But nevertheless it's grey and cold (by our standards) and it does feel more like winter.
Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think levees, the first river that comes to mind is the Mississippi.

DeleteSure looks a lot like Autumn. Or Höst as we like to call it.
ReplyDeleteIt seems autumn beauty is worldwide... no matter what it's called.
DeleteOak trees or Plane trees Stuart..how is it that fallen autumn leaves always manage to look so charming !

DeleteOur trees are now all bare making everything look so dull. Makes me wish fall lasted just a bit longer!
