Here's an up close and personal photo of the pagoda at Chanteloup.  You can find other views (such as this one) by searching on the keyword pagoda on the right.

    1. You know your Amboise history well. Yes, the château is long gone and no plans to rebuild it. So this and the reflecting pool are all that's left.

  2. I bet there's a spiral staircase inside to the tippy top!

    1. Yes, there is a staircase for each pair of two levels. So there are "floors", or landings, where one finds the next staircase to keep going up. Of course each one is narrower than the previous. I have to say, the top is not for the faint of heart.

  5. Seriously now does this not remind you of a wedding cake.. an architectural wedding cake :)

  6. Very nice architectural details. So... are you faint hearted? I'm sure the view must be rather nice from up there (hint, hint... :-))

    1. I love going up on tall things even though I sometimes find myself a bit squeamish. It is indeed a nice view of the surrounding fields and forest. Perhaps I will post a panorama at some point. Stay tuned.

  7. Do you get to go outside at each landing? I really like the railings.

    1. Yes. Each of those railings is on one of the landings and you can go out and walk around the pagoda.
