We recently went to the nearby town of Chédigny to see their annual rose festival. It seems every home in the charming town has a fantastic display of roses. We managed to get three beautiful climbing rose plants back home and someday I hope to show you a display like this chez nous.
Stunning, with sun as well. What did you buy?
ReplyDeleteThey are "Papa Meilland" roses... the blooms are pretty large and deep red.
DeleteNo roses here ! Your shot is great , how gorgeous these roses are .Nothing to do which what we can find in flower shops. I ask for more !!!!
ReplyDeleteTess
Well I suppose virtual roses are better than no roses. It seems our new roses are quite happy to be here. But I've still got to re-plant them in our planter. But before that I have to fill the planter with dirt (which I do not yet have). So we'll see if they remain patient and happy in the meantime !
DeleteHow beautiful! I love that old house too.
ReplyDeleteThis little town is just fabulous. The houses are so charming and well maintained. Judging from the advertising posters, there would appear to be a lot of artists in the area. I can see why.
Deletenow that is soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can't wait for our new "babies" to grow up !
Deleteohmygosh, Stuart - how beautiful!
ReplyDeletewish we were there to stop and smell the roses....
Yes, you guys would have loved this town and this festival.
DeleteJust gorgeous, Stuart!
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day and we bagged the limit so to speak !
DeleteGood grief, that's amazingly beautiful! The scent must be heavenly too when you open your window!
ReplyDeleteAh but chez vous, y aura-t-il aussi les deux boules de buis parfaitement taillées ? :-)
Les boules ? Bien sûr, ça sera plus pétillant !
DeleteCharming is the word that comes to mind. I bet the whole town smelled wonderful....!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, it did.
DeleteWe drove through Chédigny on Tuesday after lunch in Genillé. Very pretty, indeed.
ReplyDeleteAh, you took the long way home. (Now I'll be hearing that in my head all day.)
DeleteGreat display of roses, beautiful !
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karl.
DeleteI look forward to seeing that Stuart, meanwhile this image fills in beautifully while we wait :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to plant our new roses tomorrow, so it may be awhile !
